Country: Malawi

Project cost: $1800

Needs

For USD 1800 you can support the Food Program at Tiyanjane Nursery School for six months, providing nutritional meals for 250 students.

About project

Malnutrition is a large problem in Malawi, with over one quarter of children under age five underweight, and over half stunted in growth. help2kids works to meet the nutritional needs of the orphaned and vulnerable children attending Tiyanjane Nursery School. Every day after class, students are provided with a heaping bowl of maize porridge enriched with high-protein soya bean flour. This not only ensures they receive a nutritious breakfast, but also provides an incentive for nursery school attendance, giving these children the start to life and education that they deserve.

Your Impact

For USD 1800 you can provide the ingredients and cooking supplies to nourish the nursery school students at Tiyanjane, helping them grow strong and focus during this crucial developmental time. Studies show the importance of early education in later development and learning. Without food in their bellies, these young learners cannot benefit from the education they’re receiving in the classroom. By supporting the Food Program, you’re supporting both the physical and mental development of young children in Malawi.
